David Moyes has opened the door to a return to English football for David Beckham by admitting he would welcome the chance to sign him on loan in the new year.

The Everton manager has asked about taking Landon Donovan on loan for a second time but made it clear he would be just as interested in a move for the America midfielder's LA Galaxy team-mate and former Manchester United midfielder.

'I hope that if David wanted to come, he would pick up the phone and call me,' said Moyes.

'I worked with David at Preston and if he wanted to come back to the Premier League, he would only need to phone me or Phil Neville.

'If he wanted to come to Everton, we would be here for him. If he said he would like to come, I would have to go to the chairman and ask if we could do it.

'I'd ask if we could make it work by selling enough shirts.'
