Dave Prentice: Seamus Coleman’s mustard - but the goal celebration’s not so hot

SEAMUS COLEMAN has almost everything you could wish to find in a right-sided midfielder.[LNB]Pace, energy, directness, a refreshing sense of adventure, a willingness to learn and a marked lack of ego.[LNB]But I said almost.[LNB]One thing is clearly missing - and it was advertised quite clearly at Goodison Park on Wednesday.[LNB] A goal celebration.[LNB]Coleman's reaction after neatly nodding Everton to three valuable points was endearingly naive.[LNB]He jogged to the crowd, he turned to his team-mates, he stopped, he started to run again and he finally raised both arms in a sort of celebratory roar.[LNB]There are plenty to choose from.[LNB]David Moyes probably wouldn't advise the Peter Beagrie somersault, but there's still the Big Fergie (removing your shirt and flexing a right bicep), the Waggy Wave (Dave Watson's beaming smile while he waved a right hand regally), Tim Cahill's boxing routine or my own personal favourite, the Big Bob Latch (the celebration he saved up for REALLY big goals, which was to clench two fists under his chin whilst running at the crowd). Or maybe he should just leave it as it is - a refreshingly sincere young man with no side to him.
