Croatian Star Eyes Everton Switch

Croatia International Danijel Pranjic has set his sights on a summer move to Everton, claiming he expects 'some major developments' in the next week.

The 31-year old was on the brink of a move to Goodison Park in January, only for former club Bayern Munich to block the deal at the eleventh hour.

Pranjic however, is now a free agent after recently being released by the Bundesliga giants and Everton boss David Moyes is reportedly keen to make the Croat his first signing of this transfer window.

Everton fans will be hoping that plans are being made to bolster the squad and that Moyes is not planning for life without star left back Leighton Baines, who is attracting interest from Manchester United.

Pranjic doesn’t seem to be short of admirers, with offers believed to be on the table from clubs in Italy, France, Turkey, Netherlands and Russia.

Appearing to favour a move the blue half of Merseyside, he said: “I am honoured that such a successful coach wants to sign me, and would be honoured to play for a club like Everton with such a rich history.

I can’t say that everything is finished, but next week I’m expecting some concrete developments.”

Elsewhere, Toffees target Steven Naismith has rejected the offer of a contract with newco Rangers and could also make the move to Goodison Park in the near future.
