Crewe extend Ruddy loan

Crewe Alexandra have extended the loan of Everton goalkeeper John Ruddy by a further two months. Ruddy has impressed since joining the League One strugglers in January, winning four of his five games so far. He will now stay at Gresty Road for the maximum 93 days, meaning he will only be unavailable for the final game of the season against leaders Leicester City. The promising shot-stopper is happy to have extended his deal and is eager to help Crewe avoid relegation to League Two. "I am pleased to have re-signed to virtually the end of the season because it has been good for me here," Ruddy told the club's official website. "The spirit in the camp is very good and there are a lot of games coming up due to the rearrangements. "I know it is an old cliche, but we are taking every game as it comes and hopefully we can continue doing what we are doing and get ourselves out of the bottom four as soon as possible."
