City offer trio in bid for Arteta - Report

Manchester City are reportedly planning to offer Stephen Ireland, Nedum Onioha and Michael Johnson to Everton in a bid to land Mikel Arteta.[LNB] According to reports in the News of the World, City boss Roberto Mancini is so determined to land the Spanish playmaker that he is willing to sacrifice the unsettled trio.[LNB]Despite City's swollen midfield, they still want to add the Spanish playmaker to their ranks, with Mancini feeling his creative eye could make a huge difference to their title challenge.[LNB]Arteta, 28, is one of the most accomplished players in the Premier League but doubts have emerged over his future on Merseyside following his failure to break into the Spanish national team.[LNB]The Toffees would be loathe to lose Arteta, but are known to have made enquiries for City defender Onuoha, so could be tempted to listen to City's proposals.[LNB]Everton boss David Moyes has been tracking the former England Under-21 defender for some time and values his versatility.
