Cardiff - No new Ledley bids

Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale says the club have not received any new offers for Wales international Joe Ledley. The midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League over the summer and he is in the final year of his contract at Cardiff. Hull City, Stoke City and West Ham United have all been linked with bids in the past, while reports claim Everton boss David Moyes is prepared to spend part of the Joleon Lescott windfall on Ledley. However, Ridsdale insists there has been no fresh interest in the 22-year-old and remains hopeful Ledley will sign a new contract. "We have not had any enquiries or offers for Joe," Ridsdale told the South Wales Echo. "We want him to stay and still want him to sign the new contract which is on offer to him." Meanwhile, Cardiff boss Dave Jones is still looking to strengthen his squad after signing Manchester City youngster Kelvin Etuhu on loan last week. "By the end of the week we will have one or two more in," said Jones. "I will keep hounding the chairman to strengthen the squad and we are close to adding to the squad. "Kelvin is a big asset. We've picked up a quality player. I didn't think we had a cat in hell's chance of getting him. I believed Wolves or Portsmouth would sign him, but for some reason they could not sort out contractual problems and we kept our nerve. We were able to move in quickly and sign him."
