Capello - The door is open
// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Fabio Capello says it is not beyond the realms of possibility that he might name an unexpected player in his 2010 World Cup squad.[LNB] The England boss says he could yet make a Theo Walcott-style surprise announcement when it comes to his squad selection.[LNB]Walcott was named in Sven-Goran Eriksson's 23-man party for the 2006 tournament despite not having played a first-team game for Arsenal.[LNB]His decision was largely condemned when the young striker did not feature in the tournament before England crashed out on penalties in the quarter-finals.[LNB]Not ruling out a similar decision, Capello says he may well follow in Eriksson's footsteps in naming a squad member who has never before played in the senior squad.[LNB]"Yes, it is possible," he said.[LNB]Youth"It would have to be a young player because I know the older ones better," he added.[LNB]"We have four good young players already: James Milner, Aaron Lennon, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Theo Walcott. They can all improve even more this season."[LNB]Capello admitted that the likes of Arsenal's Kieran Gibbs "has to play" to make his line-up but did not rule out Everton's Jack Rodwell when prompted.[LNB]The England boss, though, admitted that he has 16 of his 35 names "more-or-less" already decided.[LNB]"I have to repeat the same thing every time, though," he added. "The door is open for all the players.[LNB]"We have to wait until April to see what the situation is with the players."[LNB]Capello will have little time with his squad in the build-up to next year's tournament - after the friendly with Brazil, the Italian will only have his squad together for three days, ahead of a friendly on March 3, until the middle of May.[LNB]Regardless, England's superb qualification process stands them in good stead, having scored 33 goals in their nine wins from 10 games.[LNB]Asked if things could have gone any better, he said: "No. Just perhaps if we played 11 versus 11 in the Ukraine."[LNB]
