Cahill rubbishes Oz rumours

Everton midfielder Tim Cahill has dismissed reports that he will head home to Australia in the summer of 2012 at the end of his current Toffees contract.

The 28-year-old has been at Goodison Park since the summer of 2004 and insists he has no plans to head Down Under for some time to come.

He told the club's official website: "Everyone knows that I'm fiercely proud of my roots and that perhaps one day I may play club football back home.

"However, to say that I will be doing it at the end of my current deal is simply not true.

"I am 28 and, with all due respect, when my contract expires I'd hope that I will still have a few more years left at this level of the game.

"The English Premier League is the best in the world and it has the best players, so I have absolutely no plans to move on."

Cahill has scored 39 goals in 137 appearances for the Toffees since his £1.5million transfer from Millwall.
