Cahill confident over fitness

Injured Everton midfielder Tim Cahill is confident of being fully-fit in time for the start of next season.

The Australia international has been ruled out of the rest of the current campaign after suffering a second broken foot in little over 12 months.

Cahill picked up his latest problem in last month's 1-1 draw with West Ham United but expects to be able to take a full part in pre-season training in the summer.

The 28-year-old missed the first two months of the season having suffered a metatarsal injury in the closing weeks of the last campaign.

He has made just 29 appearances in 48 games for the Toffees this season.

"I started my rehab programme the day after I broke it," he told evertonTV.

"One thing I am is experienced in this game and I know exactly where I am with my foot injury.

"When it comes to pre-season it will be like I haven't been out of football."
