Boro boss Southgate wants to snap up Everton striker Vaughan on loan
Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has opened talks with Everton about a possible loan deal for James Vaughan.
Southgate wants to maintain Boro's good start to the season in the Championship and Vaughan fits the bill, reports The Daily Mirror.
The England Under-21 striker was expected to move to Newcastle before the transfer window but the deal broke down due to a knee injury.
Now Southgate is ready to go in for Vaughan again and hopes to tie up the deal before the clash against Ipswich Town on Saturday.
