Better injury news for Moyes
07 Oct 2009 - 15:51:14
Everton manager David Moyes has been handed a double boost after it was revealed that both Steven Pienaar and Joseph Yobo should have recovered from injuries in time to feature against Wolves later this month.
Pienaar has been sidelined since being injured in the recent win at Portsmouth while Yobo suffered a thigh strain while preparing for last week's Europa League victory at BATE Borisov.
Head physio Mick Rathbone told the club's official website: "Steven got head-butted on the inside of the knee against Portsmouth and it was just unfortunate it caught him right on the medial ligament.
"He can use the exercise bike but it's pretty sore. I'd expect him to be there or thereabouts for the Wolves game.
"Joseph's injury was so, so minor, but if you do an injury like that the night before a game it doesn't give you a lot of time to recover.
"He's gone off with the Nigerian squad as they've got a very important game against Mozambique on Sunday and I think he'll be fit for that."
