Bendtner and cash sweetener for Toffees

Striker Nicklas Bendtner could be set to join Everton in a deal which would take Mikel Arteta to Arsenal this week. Gunners chief Arsene Wenger is on the lookout for a playmaker to replace the outgoing Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri at the Emirates Stadium before Wednesday's transfer deadline. And the Toffees' 29-year-old Spanish star Arteta now looks to be high on his wanted list following a failed bid to sign Marseille's Lucho Gonzalez.Everton boss David Moyes is keen to strengthen his forward line at Goodison Park so could be tempted to cash-in on Arteta in order to bring in Danish striker Bendtner, who has been told he has no future at Arsenal, plus £2million.The main obstacle to a deal could be 23-year-old Bendtner's wage demands which have already resulted in the likes of Sporting Lisbon, Sunderland and Newcastle United being put off signing him.
