BARRY HORNE: Brave David Moyes calls it right over Joleon Lescott's move from Everton to Man City

IT was another fantastic day to be an Evertonian last Saturday watching Everton, as I had hoped, start the game brilliantly and totally overwhelm an expensively assembled Manchester City team.[LNB]David Moyes was very brave to speak honestly and openly about his feelings over the Joleon Lescott affair.[LNB]If Manchester City had won much would have been made by the post-match media and the manager ran the risk of looking churlish.[LNB]As it turned out, not only had David Moyes prepared his team perfectly, his programme notes helped to ensure that the atmosphere created by the Everton fans inside Goodison Park was outstanding.[LNB]The fans certainly inspired the home team and intimidated the visitors, who after a run of comfortable victories one feels may be getting a little complacent.[LNB]Marouane Fellaini was quite rightly named man of the match and can hopefully reproduce something approaching last Saturday's form on a regular basis.[LNB]Top players, over a run of 10 games, will be good in five or six, very good in three or four and might have one poor game and one outstanding game.[LNB]That is the level of consistency required to be a top player.[LNB]I have expressed my reservations about Fellaini in the past but if he can find that kind of consistency I will be delighted to hold my hands up and say I was wrong.
