Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta does not understand why he has failed to receive a call-up to the Spanish national side.[LNB] The 26-year-old has represented his country at U21 level but is yet to win a cap as a senior international despite his impressive performances in the Premier League.[LNB]Arteta is bitterly disappointed he has been overlooked by head coach Vicente Del Bosque ahead of Spain's clash with England on Wednesday night.[LNB]"I have asked myself seven million times why I have never been called into the Spanish team when I was doing very well at Under 21 level," he told Everton's official website.[LNB]Dream"I do not understand it and it is something I hope to overcome someday. It would have been a great dream to play against England in Seville. [LNB]"I still look forward to the call one day and my dream as a footballer is to still get selected for my country." [LNB]The Basque player believes there is still plenty of time left in his career to become a member of the Spain squad.[LNB]"I can still grow as a player," he added. [LNB]"In the four years here I have managed to improve and evolve in many other aspects and I hope to continue to refine because I still think I have eight or ten years left."[LNB]
