Arteta not leaving Toffees

Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta has ended speculation surrounding his future by claiming that he is not considering leaving Goodison Park.

Arteta, 26, is reported to be a target for both Arsenal and Manchester City this month.

But the former Rangers and Real Sociedad star has dismissed reports that he could be tempted to leave Merseyside.

Arteta has been in glittering form for the Toffees in recent weeks, scoring three goals from midfield in his last three games.

"They are just rumours. Arsenal might make a bid, City might make a bid," the Spaniard told the Liverpool Post.

"The squad at Everton is small and we have six players injured. It will never be easy for me to leave here but it's not something I'm thinking about.

"I have three years left on my contract and I have been treated well. English clubs respect their players.

"The speculation is a little tiring. I've always said I'm very proud to represent this club and am happy here."
