Everton playmaker Mikel Arteta admits he fulfilled a long-standing ambition by netting in a derby victory for the Toffees on Sunday.[LNB] The Spaniard has plenty of experience when it comes to Merseyside grudge matches against Liverpool, having been part of the set-up at Goodison Park since 2005.[LNB]He had to wait until Sunday, though, before he was able to taste the ecstasy of scoring against the Toffees' arch-enemies.[LNB]His stinging strike from the edge of the box early in the second half wrapped up the points for Everton, as they claimed a 2-0 win, and Arteta admits the emotions which greeted his goal were even better than he had imagined.[LNB]"I was desperate to score a derby goal and find out how it would feel," he said in the Liverpool Echo.[LNB]"The reaction of the fans was amazing, so to score and to win the game made it even better.[LNB]"I was just delighted when I saw the ball hit the back of the net. The ball was coming quite high so I knew the players would be coming at me.[LNB]"So I tried to get an early touch and get it away from my feet as soon as possible. Pepe (Reina) was struggling to see the ball because there were so many players in front of him.[LNB]"We'd been talking at half-time about needing the second goal and scoring it made things a lot more difficult for Liverpool."
