American loan star Landon Donovan looking to hit ground running at Everton

Landon Donovan 300[LNB]LANDON Donovan is determined not to waste precious time during his brief Everton loan spell adapting to life in the Premier League.[LNB]The USA forward is aware that he only has two and a half months to make a positive impact with the Blues, and is confident he won't take long getting up to speed.[LNB]Despite his last loan spell in Europe with Bayern Munich proving to be a frustrating experience, he is upbeat about the challenge ahead.[LNB]The 27-year-old, who could play against Arsenal on Saturday as David Moyes contends with a shortage of attacking options, said: 'We only have one shot at life and I want to be the best I can be.[LNB]'That means that for the next 10 weeks I am here at Everton and every day I am going to be as good as I can be.[LNB]'The LA Galaxy forward is also determined he will not waste precious time adapting to the English style of play. It doesn't have to be that you need a long time to adapt.[LNB]'That often happens but this week for instance I haven't had any trouble with jet lag I have slept through every night.[LNB]'I am mentally strong and I want to take advantage of every opportunity. I am not going to tell myself I need three, four, five weeks to adapt. I am going to be ready to go this weekend if I get called on.'
