LANDON Donovan is determined not to waste precious time during his brief Everton loan spell adapting to life in the Premier League.
The USA forward is aware that he only has two and a half months to make a positive impact with the Blues, and is confident he won't take long getting up to speed.
Despite his last loan spell in Europe with Bayern Munich proving to be a frustrating experience, he is upbeat about the challenge ahead.
The 27-year-old, who could play against Arsenal on Saturday as David Moyes contends with a shortage of attacking options, said: 'We only have one shot at life and I want to be the best I can be.
'That means that for the next 10 weeks I am here at Everton and every day I am going to be as good as I can be.
'The LA Galaxy forward is also determined he will not waste precious time adapting to the English style of play. It doesn't have to be that you need a long time to adapt.
'That often happens but this week for instance I haven't had any trouble with jet lag I have slept through every night.
'I am mentally strong and I want to take advantage of every opportunity. I am not going to tell myself I need three, four, five weeks to adapt. I am going to be ready to go this weekend if I get called on.'
