Football.co.uk's countdown continues with a French under-21 international hoping to make an impact on the blue half of Merseyside.

Name: Magaye Serigne Falilou Dit Nelson Gueye

Born: 6 July 1990 (Age 20)

International Honours: France U21 (3 caps, 1 goal)

Born in Nogent-sur-Marne, France, Gueye started his football career at an early age, joining local side US Lognes when he was just eight-years-old.

After four years he was spotted by professional club RC Strasbourg, going on to join their youth academy in 2002.

The pacey attacker, who can play up-front and out wide, worked his way through Strasbourg's youth ranks, making his first-team debut in Novemeber 2008.

He signed his first professional contract in October 2009, going on to score nine goals in 27 games before signing a five-year deal with Everton for a fee believed to be around £1 million.

On the international stage Gueye chose to represent France despite both his parents being born in Senegal. After appearing for the under-16 side in 2005, he has won caps at under-19, under-20 and under-21 level.

Since joining the Toffees last summer Gueye has found his first-team opportunities limited, often playing for the reserve team and sitting on the bench. However with Everton boss David Moyes recently stating that Gueye is his 'secret weapon', expect the Frenchman to make his mark on the first team soon.
