Tamudo longs for Espanyol role

Espanyol stalwart Raul Tamudo has admitted that recent weeks with the club have been very difficult.

The 32-year-old striker has not featured for the Barcelona outfit since mid-September and looks increasingly likely to move on as early as January.

Tamudo told TV3: "It is not a good situation for anyone. From one day to the next it is not easy not being able to play and wear the team's shirt.

"But now at least people are focusing on Espanyol and not on Raul Tamudo, which means that we are all in the same boat here.

"Things are not easy because many things that are being said are not true.

"In the end, all I want is to play. I look forward to being able to wear the shirt and kiss the badge again, because that will mean that I have scored.

"It is what I have done throughout my career and what I want to continue to do."
