Pochettino praises Nakamura

Espanyol coach Mauricio Pochettino is content with the way that summer recruit Shunsuke Nakamura has adapted to life in Spain.

The 31-year-old Japan international moved to Barcelona from Celtic, having previously enjoyed a three-year spell in Italy with Reggina.

Pochettino told Marca: "He has come from a totally different type of football.

"In Scotland, they play with a completely different style compared to in Spain; it's completely the opposite thing. It's more direct football there, the ball passes through the midfield quickly.

"He is happier here and the football will make him better, he is technically well equipped.

"He is integrating himself more and more and is adapting to the Spanish culture. He is speaking and smiling a bit more."
