Pochettino: We will stay up

Espanyol coach Mauricio Pochettino has total confidence in his side's ability to avoid relegation.

The Catalan side remain second bottom of the La Liga table after a dismal season so far, but Pochettino - who took the managerial reins in January - does not believe they will ultimately be relegated.

"We should not look at the table, but to continue working because we are on a good path," he said.

"The league is not over tomorrow and if we work on the way we played against Madrid (in Saturday's 2-0 defeat), we will have a chance to keep ourselves up.

"The team is doing their talking on the pitch and they are sending a clear message that we should be trusted and that we will stay up.

"If the other teams enter bad runs of form then perhaps it is better, but that is something I cannot control."
