Espanyol coach Mauricio Pochettino has played down talk of La Liga safety despite his side finally clawing their way out of the drop zone.

Espanyol's 2-0 victory over Real Betis moved the Barcelona-based club up to 16th place in the table.

"We still have five matches to go before we have achieved salvation," warned Pochettino.

"We must continue the same level of concentration and continue this same level of work.

"We have not achieved anything yet."
