Espanyol swoop for Verdu

Espanyol have snapped up midfielder Joan Verdu following his release by Deportivo La Coruna.
The 26-year-old schemer was a virtual ever-present for Depor this season but was released after failing to agree terms on a new deal.
The former Barcelona youngster has now returned to Catalonia after agreeing a four-year contract with the city's second club.
Verdu had spent three seasons with Depor, scoring nine goals in 85 appearances.
