Espanyol coach still in shock

Espanyol coach Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he and the whole of his club are still in shock over the sudden death of captain Daniel Jarque.

The 26-year-old suffered a heart attack last weekend during a pre-season training camp in Italy, leaving the Barcelona-based club in mourning at such a tragic loss.

Pochettino told AS: "He was an outstanding person and a great professional.

"This is a great loss for his family and for Espanyol. It is very hard to take.

"We do not yet believe what has happened. It has been a huge blow and it is very sad. We are all full of pain, something inexplicable has happened."
