Young England stars backed for Brazil

With the World Cup in Brazil only months away there are signs that some of the young England stars could make the plane and be a part of Roy Hodgson’s squad.

West Ham’s Ravel Morrison has been in great form this season and has been given an opportunity by Sam Allardyce due to injuries to Andy Carroll and being light on attacking options. Ravel has been scoring at under-21 level and scored a spectacular strike at White Hart Lane in West Hams’s surprise 3-0 victory over Tottenham.

Joe Cole has backed Morrison to make the squad “of course he has a World Cup chance. He’s been outstanding. He loves football and you see the joy in him when he’s playing.

Chances of making the squad out of ten – 6/10

Tottenham’s Andros Townsend has been an outstanding performer so far this season and played a major part in England’s qualifcation for the World Cup with his goals and assists. Athough he got his chance in the England squad due to injuries to Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain, it is hard to imagine he would be left out unless he suffers a major dip in form or injury.

Chances of making the Squad 9/10.

Everton’s Ross Barkley has really impressed so far this season and looks a ready made replacement for Steven Gerrard in the England midfield. He is comfortable on the ball and has great energy. He may be a great addition to bring of the bench but the squad is not short of midfielders at the moment and if he was taken it would be for the experience more than anything.

Chances of making the squad 6/10.

Southampton’s Luke Shaw has started the season on fire and has been key to the Saint’s fantastic start to the season. He is only young and his chance will certainly come on his current form but the chances of making th squad is minimal due to having Ashley Cole and Leighton Baines ahead of him.

Chances of making th squad 5/10.

Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling looks a great prospect for both club and country but does not start many games for Liverpool. He is one for the future but it would take a major loss of form or injuries to Townsend, Walcott or Oxlade-Chamberlain to make the squad.

Chances of making the squad 4/10.

There are other young English talent that could be in with a chance such as Manchester City’s Jack Rodwell, Aresenal’s Kieran Gibbs, Manchester United’s Wilfried Zaha and Norwich City’s Nathan Redmond. Again it would take injuries to the current squad to even consider these players as not all of them play on a regular basis for their club.
