Wolfsburg players welcome McClaren
Wolfsburg's Bosnian midfielder Zvjezdan Misimovic has welcomed the appointment of Steve McClaren as their new manager. The Wolves won the 2008-09 Bundesliga title against the odds but were a long way from replicating their success this season. McClaren led FC Twente to the Eredivisie title, going some way to re-establishing his coaching reputation after his torrid time in charge of the England team - which ended abruptly after failure to qualify for the 2008 European Championship. "We have to find the way back to what made us successful and our aim has got to be to establish ourselves as a top club," Misimovic told t-online.de. "I am convinced that our club bosses have found the right man for that. This season should strengthen us and enables us to attack next season."
