What now for England at Euro 2012, easy passage or Group of Death?

The seedings for Euro 2012 mean England's passage to the knockout phase could be anything from straightforward to absolutely terrifying.

Taking the optimistic view first and bearing in mind that England have already settled on a base in Krakow, a group containing;

Poland, Greece and Denmark,

should present no problems for the Three Lions and would leave them well positioned to unleash a fresh and eager Wayne Rooney into the knockout phase. However, should the Gods of Nyon look unkindly upon them, Capello's team could be faced with the daughting prospect of having to face;

Spain, Portugal and France,

and whilst neither France nor Portugal are the forces that they once were, this would certain be a combination worthy of being christened the Group of Death.With the only certainties being that they cannot face both Spain or the Netherlands nor Germany, Italy or Russia, the possibilities for the group are wide and varied. It is most probable that the draw in Kyiv on December 2nd will present them with something in between, maybe;

Netherlands, Croatia and the Republic of Ireland,

By no means easy, but also not insurmountable.
