Warnock could be England boss, says Redknapp

Outspoken QPR manager Neil Warnock has the ability to be England coach when Fabio Capello stands down next season, Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp said Friday.

Warnock steered QPR to promotion to the Premier League last season and his team are currently 10th in the top flight after their 1-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday.

Redknapp is the bookmakers' favourite to take over from Capello after Euro 2012, but the Tottenham coach thinks former Sheffield United manager Warnock should not be ruled out.

"I'm sure he could do the job," said Redknapp. "If you have good players you have a chance. Neil has done fantastically. To walk in there (QPR) and take them up in his first full season takes some doing.

"People think it's easy but they've all been trying and no-one got near it. Suddenly he walks in and up they go.

"I don't think he gets the recognition he deserves. People love to knock him but he must be doing something right."
