Southampton striker Jay Rodgriguez has been handed a first call-up to Roy Hodgson's England squad for their games against Chile and Germany.

Having bagged three times in ten Premier League outings this season, the 24-year-old is joined on the list by fellow high-flying Saints Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert.

Former Burnley man Rodriguez has previously made one appearance for the Under-21s, away in Italy in 2011, while midfielder Lallana has figured at U18s, U19s and Under-21s level and was also called up to the senior squad for last year's game against Ukraine.

There is also a return to Hodgson's set-up for Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson, who has played in all ten Premier League games for the Reds.

Henderson was the Under-21s captain for the last European Championship campaign and also has five senior caps, his most recent coming against Italy at Euro 2012.

The 23-year-old's Anfield team-mate Glen Johnson also returns after missing England's recent fixtures due to injury.
