Football Association chairman Lord Triesman says England's World Cup training camp will be a "first class" base for the tournament.

Fears had been expressed about the readiness of the Royal Bafokeng Sports Campus at Rustenburg but Triesman said the pitches and facilities were all ready. It comes after FIFA revealed they have had to give South African World Cup organisers an extra £67million to ensure training bases for the teams are up to scratch.

Triesman said: "It's first class, it's at the right altitude, it's the right quality and the pitches are a good quality to train on."

He added: "We have done all we can to prepare for the World Cup and most importantly Fabio has done everything he can and he's satisfied with the training facilities."
