Shrewsbury set for Hart windfall

Joe Hart's expected competitive debut for England in Friday's Euro 2012 qualifier with Bulgaria at Wembley will benefit Shrewsbury by half a million pounds.

Hart was named as first choice for last month's friendly with Hungary and looks certain to retain his place.

It will mean the Shrews receiving a huge financial windfall from Manchester City as part of the deal when they bought Hart.

Hart said: "I think I am right in thinking Shrewsbury get half a million if I play on Friday.

"That will be huge for the club. Last time when I played in the friendly, they thought they were getting it but it has to be a competitive game.

"It is huge money for a team like that and I am pleased for them although there is only one player left from my time there. Everyone else has gone."

Not that Hart is taking anything for granted as England look to bounce back from their disappointing World Cup.

He said: "I don't think anyone knows they are playing. There are only a couple of people who can quite comfortably say that in our squad.

"I'm definitely not one of them. I'm just going to train hard and do my best to get in that team."
