Rio set to return

England defender Rio Ferdinand should return to action in Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia in Zagreb after coming through a training session on Monday unscathed.

The Manchester United defender missed the goalless draw with FYR Macedonia because of a back injury but will travel to Croatia on Tuesday.

"Rio trained on Monday and it's good to have him back with us," head coach Steve McClaren told the Football Association's official website.

"He'll be travelling with the squad and expects to train on Tuesday in Croatia, providing there's no reaction.

"Ledley King missed training but is also expected to train with the rest of the squad on Tuesday."

Reports suggest McClaren could bring Scott Parker in to his starting line-up in a bid to improve his midfield options.
