Redknapp thankful on Dawson diagnosis

Harry Redknapp, the Tottenham Hotspur manager, was relieved to only lose defender the services of injured defender Michael Dawson for two months. Dawson, 26, damaged knee and ankle ligaments in his left leg playing for England in the 4-0 win over Bulgaria on Friday night. It was a freak injury for the centre-back, but his scheduled return time of six-eight weeks is about as good as it could have been. "It's a big blow for Michael and a great shame for him. Watching it live, I thought it could have been worse than it's turned out," Redknapp told Tottenham's official website. "It could have been his cruciate ligament and that would have been the end of the season for him but as it is, it's not such a long job and he should be back in a couple of months."
