Redknapp coy on England prospects

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is putting thoughts of England to one side as he concentrates on Spurs Premier League challenge, it was reported on Tuesday.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was quoted by the Evening Standard as saying that Redknapp was not interested in succeeding Fabio Capello as England manager "at the present time."

The 64-year-old is regarded as the overwhelming favourite to take over the England job when Capello steps down after Euro 2012.

However Levy told Tottenham's annual general meeting on Tuesday that the England job was not on Redknapp's radar for the time being.

"Harry has 18 months left on his contract. We have had a conversation that says as far as Harry is concerned, he is very happy here and that he doesn't particularly want to consider England at the present time," he said.

"We will worry about that situation if it arises in the summer."

Rednapp has masterminded a resurgence in Tottenham's fortunes since taking over in 2008, with the north London club currently fourth in the table and on course for Champions League qualification.
