Cole, 28, who played under Redknapp at West Ham, is a free agent having been released by Chelsea at the end of the summer. Manchester United have distanced themselves from the player, leaving Tottenham the favourites for his signature. "We've declared our interest in Joe to his agent, but that is as far as it has gone," Redknapp told The Sun. "We are told Joe doesn't want to talk to anyone about any move until after the World Cup is over." Cole is currently in South Africa as part of England's World Cup squad, though his only appearance so far was as a late substitute in Wednesday's 1-0 win over Slovenia.
