Quartet miss England training
04 Sep 2007 - 12:18:35
Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard was unable to take part in England's training session on Tuesday morning and could miss the crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers against Israel and Russia.
The Liverpool captain broke a toe in last month's Champions League clash against Toulouse and is struggling to be fit for the crucial double-header.
Owen Hargreaves, John Terry and Frank Lampard were also forced to miss the training session at Arsenal's London Colney complex.
Terry is suffering from a bug while Hargreaves was restricted to gym work as he continues to battle against a tendinitis problem in his knee.
There is still hope that Lampard will be able to feature against Russia next Wednesday, although he is definitely out of Saturday's Wembley encounter with Israel.
The Chelsea star suffered a thigh muscle tear in training on Friday and missed the Blues' weekend defeat at Aston Villa.
The midfielder is expected to team up with the England squad on Saturday for a reassessment of the injury.
