Poll result - Terry must go

05 February 2010 09:34
Football.co.uk readers have spoken, and the majority of you believe John Terry should be stripped of the England captaincy in light of revelations surrounding his private life.

Chelsea star Terry reportedly had an affair with Vanessa Perroncel, former girlfriend of his England team-mate Wayne Bridge, and has been the subject of intense speculation since courts lifted a super-injunction to keep the story quiet.

We asked Football.co.uk readers if Terry should be sacked as England skipper, and 50.6% of you voted "Yes, he's a dirty love rat and not fit to wear the armband".

JT is not without his supporters, however, with 33.9% of you maintaining he is still the man to lead England at this summer's World Cup and ticking the box marked: "He's our lion-hearted hero, who cares about his private life".

Some of you just aren't that bothered - with 15.5% voting "Who cares. A captain doesn't do a lot anyway".
