Parker Euro dream in balance

England captain Scott Parker's participation in the Euro 2012 finals hinges on an injection in a damaged Achilles, his club manager Harry Redknapp has revealed.

Parker missed Tottenham's final match of the Premier League season, Sunday's 2-0 home victory over London neighbours Fulham.

And Redknapp revealed that new England manager Roy Hodgson will discover within a week whether he must do without the midfielder.

"He is going to have an injection tomorrow and they are hoping with six or seven days of rest it could clear up," Redknapp said.

"So we will have to wait and see with Scott. If it doesn't clear up then he wouldn't be fit for the finals.

"If he has to have an operation then he would be out long term."

Another player who would be expected to be included in the squad for next month's finals in Poland and the Ukraine if fully fit is Kyle Walker.

The defender was already playing despite a broken toe and had to be substituted early in the second half because of an ankle injury.

But this time the news was more positive.

"He's OK," Redknapp said. "He was limping about there but I'm sure he will be all right tomorrow. He just couldn't run properly. Kyle will be OK for the Euros."
