No ankle problem for Defoe

Jermaine Defoe will be fit for England's European Championship qualifier against Switzerland in Basle on Tuesday despite injuring an ankle while completing his hat-trick against Bulgaria on Friday night.   The Tottenham Hotspur forward was caught while scoring and was substituted, but did not expect any serious repercussions. "I couldn't even celebrate to be honest, because I got a kick, but it's fine. Just a precaution," he said. "It's a fantastic feeling, to score for your country, to score a hat-trick and to win the game." Although Defoe's injury is not serious, his club teammate Michael Dawson is likely to be out for longer with his problem. He appeared to injure a knee while making a challenge and could only walk with the aid of crutches after the match.
