New deal for Fulham's Zamora

Fulham will offer Bobby Zamora a new contract in a bid to ward of interest from Premier League rivals. Liverpool and Birmingham City both expressed an interest in the forward during the summer, but the London club would not consider selling him. Zamora, 29, made his England debut against Hungary earlier this year and is in talks to commit his long-term future to the Cottagers. "What I know is that he is currently in discussions with the club over a possible new deal," said Mark Bowen, Fulham's assistant manager, speaking to Sky Sports. "It has been ongoing for a few months and obviously way before Mark Hughes and I came in. "But my understanding is that we are hopeful Bobby will agree a long-term contract with the club."
