Milner focused solely on Three Lions

James Milner, the England midfielder, has insisted he can remain fully focused on England's World Cup campaign despite speculation over his future.  Aston Villa say they are preparing to offer the former Leeds and Newcastle player a new long-term contract after rejected a £20million bid from Manchester City on Wednesday evening. City are likely to come back with an improved offer, while Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to be planning to make a move. Milner, 24, is currently in Austria as part of England's 30-man provision squad for the World Cup, and is expected to make the cut for Fabio Capello's final 23-man party for South Africa. He could be forgiven for being a bit distracted, but is trying not to look beyond his immediate international commitments. "The speculation about my own future is not distracting. There are always going to be rumours about every player in every club when the transfer window opens. To be linked with any clubs is flattering but I'm just concentrating on England at this time," he said, speaking at England's training camp in Irdling. "Do I expect to be at Villa next season? I don't know. I've worked as hard as I can and concentrated on club football while the season has been on. Now it has finished, I'm focusing on England - and that's the only thing I am focusing on. "The season finished at Villa a week and a bit ago and we all said we would discuss it [my future] after the World Cup. I've enjoyed my time at Aston Villa, it's a good club, we've had a lot of success this season, came close in two competitions, and we are moving forward."
