McClaren issues Owen call
10 May 2007 - 17:01:17
Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has been named in the 20-man squad for England's B international against Albania at Turf Moor on May 25.
Owen has only recently returned to action for the Magpies after a long-term knee injury suffered while on World Cup duty with England last summer.
There were also first senior international calls for a quintet of new faces - Spurs' Michael Dawson, Everton's Joleon Lescott, Reading's Nicky Shorey, Blackburn Rovers winger David Bentley and Sheffield United utility man Phil Jagielka.
Notable omissions included Manchester City's Joey Barton and Bolton Wanderers skipper Kevin Nolan.
