The Mayor of Chantilly has welcomed Roy Hodgson's Euro 2016 squad to a "small part of England in France".
England touched down in Paris on Monday afternoon and made their way by bus to their headquarters 20 miles north in the Picardy region.
Mayor Eric Woerth was on hand to greet them, alongside his deputy and the general manager of the £500-a-night Auberge du Jeu de Paume hotel.
Woerth presented Hodgson and captain Wayne Rooney with commemorative medals from the city, while the Football Association reciprocated with an inscribed crystal vase.
Woerth believes Chantilly will feel like a home away from home for the party, with the area's strong horse racing identity built around English immigrants in the 1800s.
"It's a great pleasure to welcome the England team, we have worked hard to provide them with a good stadium, a good training ground and a marvellous hotel," he told Press Association Sport.
"They were very friendly. I gave the city medal to the coach and the captain and also a book, in English, telling the story of Chantilly.
"It is a very English story. The horses and trainers came here from England in the 19th century and the relationship was built.
"There is no better place for them to be. This is a small part of England in France.
"We are proud to host them and we hope they go very far in the tournament."
