Kranjcar warns England

Portsmouth midfielder Niko Kranjcar believes England could struggle to take the point they need to qualify for Euro 2008 from Wednesday's Wembley clash against Croatia.

The 23-year-old, who has played in all 11 of Croatia's qualifiers, is convinced his side will take the game seriously even though they have already sealed their place in next summer's tournament.

Israel's shock 2-1 victory against Russia on Saturday leaves Steve McClaren's side requiring only a point to join Croatia in Austria and Switzerland, while Slaven Bilic's side will finish top of Group E if they draw at Wembley.

But Kranjcar insisted: "We have a responsibility to try to win the match.

"Israel showed what sport is about in a game. They didn't have to win and they gave their maximum against Russia.

"We know England's strengths - their players all play in the Champions League and week in week out in the Premier League.

"We are surprised they have struggled, but they have it all in their hands. They possess the quality to qualify, but I don't think it is going to be that easy."
