King eyes South Africa

Tottenham centre-back Ledley King is ready to answer England's World Cup call and wants a meeting with Fabio Capello to discuss South Africa.[LNB]King was given an international recall in March but his chronic knee problem meant he could not play against Slovakia or Ukraine, meaning his last cap was in June 2007.[LNB]His form for Spurs still leads to figures such as Harry Redknapp insisting the 28-year-old could make an impact for England, even if he was cover at a major tournament for John Terry and Rio Ferdinand, who themselves have had injury problems over the last season.[LNB]"First I have to be fit, second I have to be playing well," King said.[LNB]"If I am going to do things then I might want to speak to the England manager to see how I could be useful to the squad.[LNB]"If he felt that way we'd have to take it from there. I just want to stay fit for the season and play well."
