Just how far can England go at this years FIFA World Cup?

As summer time approaches, it’s World Cup time again for our National Team.

Just what are England’s chances of success in Brazil 2014?

With Manager, Roy Hodgson announcing his provisional world cup squad last week, few were surprised by the exclusion of Chelsea’s Ashley Cole, A player who has only played a handful of games for the blues this season.

Hence the reason why Mr Hodgson went for the young and exciting Luke Shaw of Southampton and Leighton Baines of Everton for the left back roles.

Also included in the squad are talented youngsters such as Everton’s Midfield starlet, Ross Barkley, Liverpool’s whizkid, Raheem Sterling and Arsenal wonder-boys Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain.

Add to that the experience of Liverpool & England Captain, Steven Gerrard and Chelsea’s, Frank Lampard, there is a good blend of youth and experience in the whole squad.

With Rooney, Sturridge, Welbeck and Lambert as the forward line in the squad, there is plenty of potential for goals.

This summer could prove to be a massive one for any of the young emerging talent that will be on the plane to Brazil, just as when David Beckham & Michael Owen set the world alight in 1998 or when Paul Gascoigne (1990) showed the world what footballing talent England CAN produce.

As a Liverpool fan, I would like Gerrard, Sturridge, Sterling, Henderson, Johnson and possibly even young full back John Flanagan, (who is on the stand by list) to excel in this huge worldwide tournament.

Good Luck lads, and hopefully you can bring the trophy home.
