Huddlestone weighing up Lane future
Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone has admitted he will consider his future at the club if he fails to nail down a regular starting spot.Huddlestone revealed last month that he was frustrated to have fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane in recent times but Harry Redknapp assured the England Under-21 star he is a "big part" of his plans and then handed him a start in place of the suspended Wilson Palacios in Saturday's 1-0 victory over West Ham.Huddlestone, who has a long-term contract with the club, hopes to become a permanent fixture in the Spurs side but he has dropped his strongest hint yet that he would be prepared to move to secure regular football."I am not young any more; I need to be playing week-in and week-out," Huddlestone said in The Times."I just want to be playing, hopefully at Tottenham but if not, then I will have to have a think."If the club decided that they want to get rid of me, then so be it, but it is out of my hands."It has been very frustrating as every player wants to play in every game. I am not different.England manager Fabio Capello identified Huddlestone as one of the three most promising youngsters in the country last week, alongside Theo Walcott and Joe Hart.Huddlestone was flattered to hear the remarks but realises there is no chance of him breaking into the England team at present.He explained: "Capello's comments just add to the frustration, but if I am sat on the bench week-in, week-out, I am not going to be able to play for my country."[LNB]
