English and French players, fans and officials joined forces in a show of solidarity as La Marseillaise was roared by all sides on an emotional night at Wembley.

It was a defiant display of support in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday. Prince William was among those to lay a floral tribute before the game and both sides also mixed around the centre circle for an impeccably observed minute's silence.

Here Press Association Sport looks at how Twitter reacted:

Real Madrid and France striker Karim Benzema (@Benzema): "Thanks to people throughout the world for supporting France in such a moment of tragedy and sadness #PrayForParis #ANGFRA #NousSommesUnis."
