How England might line up against Slovakia

England manager Roy Hodgson rolled the dice in Thursday's Euro 2016 Group B match against Wales, with substitutes Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge helping to overturn a one-goal half-time deficit and secure a 2-1 win.

Attention now turns to the final group match against Slovakia in St Etienne on Monday night. Here, Press Association Sport's Simon Peach looks at the changes he would make to England's starting XI for that game.

JOE HART: Culpable for Gareth Bale's goal and far from faultless when Russia levelled, but now is not the time to bring him out of the line-up.

NATHANIEL CLYNE: Kyle Walker has been exceptional these past few matches and will be key going forwards. But a capable understudy allows him a timely rest.

CHRIS SMALLING: Starred for Manchester United this term and has not been flustered in France. More reliable than the talented John Stones.

GARY CAHILL: Did not enjoy the best of seasons with Chelsea but has been steady enough to keep in the side. Makes little sense to break up his partnership with Smalling.

RYAN BERTRAND: Like at right-back, it looks an ideal time to give the back-up a go. Danny Rose has played well but a break could help before the knock-outs.

JACK WILSHERE: Hodgson has long spoken about the Arsenal midfielder's ability to play at the base of the midfielder. Monday could be a good opportunity to give him minutes and rest key man Eric Dier.

DELE ALLI: Not at his best against Wales but offers a skill set few others in the England squad can match.

WAYNE ROONEY: England's talisman has played well under the spotlight, with his intelligence in central midfield shining through.

JAMIE VARDY: Stretches the opposition and impressed from the bench against Wales. Raheem Sterling's lack of confidence makes him the fall guy.

DANIEL STURRIDGE: Hodgson himself admits Harry Kane looks tired and off the back of his match-winner against Wales Sturridge deserves a start.

ADAM LALLANA: Pressed with intensity and worked tirelessly in opening two matches. Will cause Slovakia problems.
